Children Courses

Standard courses – 8 months, from October 1st to May 31st

Our standard courses cover carefully selected teaching and learning content for each academic year which provides constant, gradual progress. These courses are intended for small groups of 5 to 12 people and sessions twice a week. The courses are organised under a professionally designed syllabus for each level, corresponding directly to the Common European Framework of Reference. They comprise thorough development of all four language skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing, practising the key grammar and vocabulary that correspond to the particular level. Each course includes extra reading material – a whole book adapted to the level of the students which encourages the latter to read on their own. A lot of practice is implemented into the course using all modern methods and ICT-Interactive Whiteboard activities, also online based materials and activities, DVD and other video materials which develop the language skills within real-life scenarios.

Each of our student courses comprises a systematic preparatory process for covering the Cambridge exams, as well as mock exams and individual consultations before the big day.

Why YLE?
  • Additional motivation for the children during their English classes
  • It forms the habit of attending exams. Each next level successfully covered inspires the kids to go
    up higher
  • Children develop their self-confidence in regard to their skills and knowledge
  • External evaluation by the University of Cambridge – the written part of the test is checked in Great Britain while the speaking one is carried out by highly trained and certified examiners
  • Having gained their international recognition, the Cambridge ESOL certificates provide good start
    in life to the children

British YLE tests for pupils are divided in three levels with gradual progress – Starters, Movers and
Flyers.

The tests’ subject complies with the age group’s skills and experience, reducing stress during the exam by helping the children feel within comfortable environment. Some of the subjects are as follows: Animals; Face and Body; Clothes; Colours; Family and Friends; Food and Drinks; Health; Weather; Work; Sports; Toys; School; Home. The exam’s subjects fully match the kids’ textbooks.

The test consists of three parts at each level: Listening; Reading and Writing; Speaking. Reading and Writing come together as kids are considered to have less experience in those fields at their age, compared to the other two.
